Kosai Barouki, a 30-year-old White male, was killed in Philadelphia on December 14, 2008, after what was reported as an attempted robbery outside the place where he both lived and worked. In the early morning darkness, around 1:47 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., Barouki was outside his store/apartment on the 2300 block of South 65th Street when the robbery turned violent. He was shot in the chest and rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead at 2:08 a.m.
