Sherwood Blackwell

In the late hours of a Sunday evening in May 2009, Sherwood Blackwell, a 36-year-old Black man, was driving through the Spring Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh when his life was abruptly ended. As he traveled along Rhine Street, an unknown assailant fired a gun, striking him in the head. The fatal shot caused Blackwell's SUV to lose control and crash into a dumpster. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
