The investigation into Robert Barnes' death led to the identification and prosecution of those involved. Three women and three juveniles were charged in connection with the fatal beating. The three juveniles pleaded guilty to third-degree murder. Following their pleas, the three women also pleaded guilty to their roles in the attack.
