On January 9, 2012, 33-year-old Alexander Martinez was shot during a robbery in Philadelphia while he and his 16-year-old nephew walked along the 3500 block of North Hutchinson Street. The two were approached by two men who attempted to rob them, resulting in Martinez being shot. A passerby transported him to Temple University Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition. Tragically, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on January 10, 2012.
