In the late hours of a Friday night in East Germantown, tragedy struck 51-year-old Byron Johnson. On June 19, 2020, Johnson was found with a fatal gunshot wound to his head, lying in the doorway of a property on the 5500 block of Bloyd Street. Police responded to the scene just after 11 p.m. and pronounced him dead.
