On July 7, 2013, Lamar Pondexter, a 36-year-old resident of Pittsburgh, was shot and killed in the Carrick neighborhood during the early morning hours. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. near Nobles Lane and Denise Street. According to police reports, Pondexter was shot at point-blank range and was discovered by a neighbor shortly thereafter.
