In the quiet moments after Christmas in 2010, a Birmingham, Alabama community was shaken by the discovery of a beloved local couple, victims of a senseless act of violence. Jacky Nguyen, a male, and his wife, Nhut Phan, were found deceased on the morning of December 27, 2010, inside their business, the Top Perfect Nail salon on Bessemer Road. The couple, known for their kindness and for occasionally keeping their salon open late for customers, had been shot in the head.
