On December 21, 2016, Edwin Breazeale, a 27-year-old resident of Philadelphia, was fatally shot in the early hours of the morning. The Philadelphia Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at the unit block of North 51st Street at approximately 1:21 a.m. Officers found Edwin Breazeale inside a black Toyota Camry, suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.
