On the evening of Thursday, September 30, 2021, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers were dispatched to the 5800 block of Trinity Street following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered David Johnson, a 40-year-old Black male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The officers quickly transported Johnson to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
Despite their efforts and the medical attention he received, Johnson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead later that evening. At the time of his death, David Johnson was a resident of Commerce Drive in Darby, Pennsylvania.
As of now, the case remains an unsolved homicide. The Philadelphia Police Department is actively seeking information from the public that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for David Johnson's death. Authorities have encouraged anyone with knowledge of the incident, regardless of how insignificant it may seem, to come forward. They have assured that any tips can be submitted anonymously. No suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
