Jose Santillan, a 19-year-old male from San Francisco, was fatally stabbed on the night of June 30, 2007. The incident occurred at Columbus Avenue and Union Street near Washington Square Park at approximately 11:30 p.m. After being attacked, Santillan managed to stagger north on Powell Street, bleeding, before collapsing near the North Beach Playground. Authorities responded to the scene, but despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
