On March 1, 1975, Margo Nerine Ascencio, a 22-year-old woman, was found murdered in a motel room at the El Don Motel in Eugene, Oregon. She had been brutally stabbed multiple times, and the nature of the attack suggested it was particularly violent. Ascencio had checked into the motel earlier that evening, but by the time authorities arrived, she had already succumbed to her injuries.
