Vickie Williams, a 19-year-old African-American female, was found deceased in Portland, Oregon. Her body was located along an embankment behind an apartment complex in the 1900 block of NE Multnomah Street, an area adjacent to recent rail construction along Interstate 84.
Two friends walking near the edge of a parking lot made the grim discovery at approximately 6:25 p.m., noticing what appeared to be a female figure lying under some tree branches.
Upon the arrival of police, the victim was officially identified as Vickie Williams. An autopsy later determined that the young mother had died as a result of stab wounds. Investigators learned that Vickie had last been seen alive more than a month earlier, on the evening of March 18. On that night, she was in the vicinity of the 2400 block of NE Union Avenue, which is now known as Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. The clothing she was wearing when last seen included a red blouse, dark pants with multicolored pinstripes, white tennis shoes, and a full-length, dark purple raincoat.
At the time of her death, Vickie was the mother of a young child. It was also rumored that she may have occasionally been involved in prostitution. Despite the passage of time, her case remains an unsolved homicide. Law enforcement has not publicly identified any suspects, and no arrests have been made in connection with her murder. The case is now considered a cold case, and investigators continue to appeal to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough and bring closure to her family.
