On February 24, 2022, Mary Getty, a 55-year-old school teacher from the Beaverton area of Portland, Oregon, was found dead in the front yard of her home. The discovery was made by a passerby who alerted authorities by calling 911. Upon arrival, Washington County sheriff's deputies found Mary Getty unresponsive outside her front door, located in the 4200 block of Northwest Oxbridge Road in unincorporated Washington County.
