Do you know what happened to Lisa Ann? In the early morning hours of a late September day in 1984, the life of 24-year-old Lisa Ann Ledbetter was tragically cut short. The young woman was last seen after midnight on September 24th at Jake & Elwood's Tavern, located in the 5800 block of South Peoria in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At some point between 1:30 am and 2 am, she spoke with a friend who was working at a nearby convenience store. This would be one of the last known conversations she had.
Police were informed that she was seen leaving the bar with an unidentified man.
The following morning, on September 25, 1984, a grim discovery was made. Lisa's body was found in a field near 31300 S. 29th West Avenue, an area close to the Channel 8 television studios and also near her parents' home. The cause of death was determined to be homicide by stabbing; she had been stabbed five times. Near her body, investigators recovered a hunting knife and its sheath, believed to be the murder weapon.
Despite the discovery of the potential murder weapon and reports of a man seen with her, no arrests have ever been made in connection with the murder of Lisa Ann Ledbetter. The case grew cold over the years, leaving her family without answers. Her parents passed away without ever knowing who was responsible for their daughter's death. The investigation into her homicide remains open, and her case is now handled by the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office Cold Case Task Force, a lingering mystery from decades past.
