Emad Alharbi, 31, male, was fatally shot late Sunday morning, September 28, 2025, inside the Mattydale Express convenience store on Brewerton Road in the Town of Salina, just north of Syracuse. According to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, a man entered the store around 11:30 a.m. and tried to steal merchandise. When Alharbi confronted him, the man opened fire, striking Alharbi multiple times. Deputies and medics rushed Alharbi to Upstate University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
