A quiet Sunday morning at the Mattydale Express on Brewerton Road took a tragic turn on September 28, 2025, ending in the death of the store's owner, Emad Alharbi. The 31-year-old male was working at his North Syracuse establishment when a man entered and attempted to shoplift. The confrontation that followed would prove to be fatal.
