On a Friday morning in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the life of 23-year-old Nicole Shyann Jackson was tragically cut short. On November 10, 2023, a distressing 911 call was made by her ex-boyfriend, Andrew Henry, from a residence near Virgin Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. When Tulsa police officers arrived at the home around 11:30 a.m., they found Henry, with a gun on his hip, and he readily admitted to having shot two people inside.
Upon entering the house, officers discovered Nicole
Jackson deceased from gunshot wounds. They also found a male teenager who had been shot in the leg but was expected to survive his injuries. The investigation that followed painted a picture of a domestic dispute that had escalated to a fatal confrontation. Detectives learned that Henry had been living with Jackson, and on that Friday, he had decided to move out.
According to Henry's account to the police, an argument ensued when he tried to leave. He claimed that Jackson took his keys to prevent him from going. At some point during the altercation, Henry alleged that he acted in self-defense, pulling out a gun and firing. He stated that he believed Jackson had told the other victim to get a weapon. However, the evidence gathered at the scene did not support his claim of self-defense in the eyes of the investigators.
Andrew Henry was taken into custody and subsequently arrested. He is facing charges of first-degree murder for the death of Nicole Jackson and shooting with intent to kill for the injuries sustained by the teenager. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Tulsa County Jail.
