On a Wednesday in early September of 1991, concern grew for 70-year-old Ocie Mae Platt when she failed to answer her phone. A close friend who lived across the street decided to call Ocie's son, Julian, after her repeated attempts to reach Ocie went unanswered. He made his way to his mother's home at 1619 N. Cincinnati Avenue in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to check on her well-being.
