In a tragic turn of events on February 9, 2011, 25-year-old Miguel Perez, a Hispanic male, was found deceased in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His body was discovered alongside another victim at Hicks Park, situated near the intersection of 34th and Mingo. Both individuals had been fatally shot and were found next to a jogging path within the park. The discovery was made late in the morning, and it was apparent that no effort had been made to conceal the bodies, which were located approximately 75 yards
from the park's playground.
The initial stages of the investigation saw the Tulsa Police Department actively canvassing the surrounding neighborhood in an effort to gather any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case. Despite their swift response, they initially struggled to find any significant leads. The investigation, however, gained momentum and eventually led to the identification of two male suspects.
The apprehension of the suspects came after the authorities located the vehicle of one of the victims. This discovery led to a brief pursuit, culminating in the arrest of one of the individuals. The second suspect was also taken into custody. Following their arrests, both men were formally charged with first-degree murder and robbery in connection with the deaths of Miguel Perez and the other victim, bringing a sense of resolution to the case.
