Jerrod Shoals was a 39-year-old Black man from Tulsa, Oklahoma, whose life came to a violent end on the night of November 27, 2008. He was found at a residence in Tulsa, and a brief account preserved in an old newspaper archive describes officers arriving at about 11:20 p.m. to discover him lying near the front door of a home at 1027 Zion Court, his body already still when police and emergency responders reached him.
