Montretta Louise Olden, a 65-year-old African-American woman, had settled into the quiet rhythms of retirement in her Oklahoma City home on Windemere Drive, a place where she was known to neighbors as friendly and approachable, someone who often walked the neighborhood and greeted people with an easy smile.
