In the late summer of 2001, a young Japanese woman named Mayuko Kawase, a 21-year-old Asian female, vanished from her life in Oklahoma City. She was a foreign exchange student enrolled at Oklahoma City Community College, having previously graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma's English Institute.
