3 people are shot following a party in NW Oklahoma City In April of 2023, a violent altercation erupted at the Whiskey Barrel Saloon in Oklahoma City, forever altering the lives of many. The incident, which took place on the first of the month, stemmed from a confrontation between rival biker gangs that quickly escalated into a deadly exchange of gunfire. By the end of the night, three men, Francisco Tanajara, Eric Oberholtzer, and Andrew Sump, lay dead, and three others were wounded.
Amid the chaos, surveillance footage captured the actions
of 42-year-old Nicklus Cole Sweet, a white male. The video showed Sweet shooting one of the injured individuals, Tyler Myers, in the back as Myers was attempting to flee the bar. Following the shooting, Sweet was seen removing his vest, which bore the insignia of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club, and placing it in a vehicle before attempting to leave the scene on his motorcycle.
Law enforcement officers who were responding to the scene stopped Sweet as he was trying to flee. He was subsequently arrested in connection with the bloody melee. The investigation led to multiple charges being filed against him, including shooting with intent to kill, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, accessory to murder, and conspiracy.
Ultimately, Nicklus Cole Sweet was sentenced to serve 12 years in federal prison for the illegal possession of a firearm. The events of that tragic night at the Whiskey Barrel Saloon left a lasting scar on the community, serving as a grim reminder of the devastating consequences of gang violence.
