In the afternoon hours of October 5, 2015, in Oklahoma City, a call to police about an assault with a deadly weapon led to the discovery of a grim scene. Officers arrived at the 1400 block of N.W. 32nd Street shortly before 4 p.m. to find 30-year-old Michael Somers, a Caucasian male, deceased. He had sustained significant trauma, and his death was quickly investigated as a homicide, marking the city's 65th of the year.
