On the evening of September 11, 2017, a tragedy unfolded in southeast Oklahoma City that cut short the life of 21-year-old Jesus Fernandez. A Hispanic male from El Paso, Texas, Fernandez was visiting a residence in the 1000 block of Carter Drive when the sound of a single gunshot pierced the night air around 8:30 p.m. When police officers arrived at the scene in response to reports of a shooting, they made a grim discovery. Jesus Fernandez was found deceased on the front porch of the home.
