In the late summer of 2012, the life of Arthur Strozewski, a 47-year-old Caucasian male, was brutally cut short in an act of violence that shook his Oklahoma City community. On August 31, Strozewski was at his home when he confronted an intruder, an act of defense for his family that would ultimately cost him his life.
During the harrowing home invasion, a violent struggle ensued. Strozewski was viciously and repeatedly stabbed as he fought to protect his loved ones.
The assault was tragically fatal, leaving his family stunned and grappling with the sudden and violent loss. The severity of the attack was later revealed to be 38 stab wounds that penetrated vital organs, including his lungs, liver, and kidney.
The investigation into the murder led authorities to a suspect, Eddie James Thompson. Thompson was subsequently arrested and charged with the crime. After being tried for his actions on that fateful day, he was convicted of first-degree murder for the death of Arthur Strozewski.
In February 2016, the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals upheld the life sentence for Eddie James Thompson, solidifying the legal conclusion to the tragic and violent death of a man who died defending his family.
