On November 17, 1979, Barbara Baker, aged 35, was found severely beaten in her bedroom at her home on Socrates Place in Akron, Ohio. The incident was discovered when Barbara's son returned home to find her unresponsive. She was immediately taken to the hospital, where she remained in an unresponsive state for several years until she eventually passed away on November 20, 1995. Her death was ruled a homicide, resulting from the injuries she sustained during the attack.
