On the morning of July 10, 2008, Robert Juarez, aged 28, was shot and killed in front of his home on Logan Avenue in the Barrio Logan neighborhood of San Diego. Juarez was sitting inside his parked vehicle when an unidentified male suspect approached and shot him multiple times. The suspect then fled on foot to a nearby waiting vehicle driven by another individual. Witnesses described the getaway vehicle as a 2006 pearl white Cadillac DTS with chrome rims.
