On the morning of July 10, 2008, Robert Juarez, aged 28, was shot and killed in front of his home on Logan Avenue in the Barrio Logan neighborhood of San Diego. Juarez was sitting inside his parked vehicle when an unidentified male suspect approached and shot him multiple times. The suspect then fled on foot to a nearby waiting vehicle driven by another individual. Witnesses described the getaway vehicle as a 2006 pearl white Cadillac DTS with chrome rims.
The driver was wearing a blue construction hard hat, leading to speculation that the suspects might have been attempting to disguise themselves as workers.
Despite multiple appeals for public assistance over the years, the case remains unsolved. The San Diego Police Department, in collaboration with San Diego County Crime Stoppers, has continually sought leads in hopes of solving the crime. Juarez’s family and friends have held annual candlelight vigils at his residence to honor his memory and bring awareness to the case. Authorities have offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information that could lead to an arrest.
