On January 4, 1991, Amos Johnson Jr., a 31-year-old resident of Lima, Ohio, was found severely beaten in the early morning hours. Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of St. Johns Avenue at approximately 2:50 a.m. after receiving a report about a man lying in distress. Upon arrival, the police discovered Johnson had sustained significant injuries to his head and body.
