On March 26, 1997, Shawn Thompson, a 29-year-old resident of Columbus, Ohio, was shot and killed in an incident that took place at 561 Elida Street. The Columbus Police Department, which responded to the case, classified it as a homicide, and despite the ongoing investigations over the years, the crime remains unsolved. Shawn suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head, and no suspects have been publicly identified or apprehended since the incident occurred.
