William Hooker Jr., aged 71, was brutally attacked on June 12, 1998, in Painesville Township, Ohio. The incident took place at his place of business, Hooker's Used Cars, located at 1870 North Ridge Road. During the early morning hours, unknown assailants entered the property and severely beat Hooker, leaving him for dead. He was discovered later by an employee who called for help.
Despite being found alive, Hooker suffered significant injuries and underwent multiple surgeries.
He spent years in a long-term assisted living facility, but unfortunately, he succumbed to complications from his injuries on April 8, 2007. The case was subsequently ruled as a homicide.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate this crime, but no suspects have been apprehended.
