Anthony Ryan Gerdau, a 28-year-old male from Cambridge, Ohio, tragically passed away on March 20, 2022. He was born on July 8, 1993, and was known for his love of computers, fishing, video games, and spending time with friends. Gerdau was an IT specialist at Community Health Care Assoc. of Ohio and a 2011 graduate of Meadowbrook High School.
On the night of his death, Gerdau was found on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 400 block of Clark Street in Cambridge.
He was taken to Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The incident occurred around 9 p.m., and the police were called to the scene shortly after.
Following the investigation, 23-year-old Spencer J. Andrews of Cambridge was charged with murder in connection to Gerdau's death. Andrews was arrested and held in the Guernsey County Jail. The charges were filed two days after Gerdau's death, on March 22, 2022.
The case drew significant attention from local authorities and the community, as Gerdau was well-liked and remembered fondly by his friends and family. His passing left a void in the lives of those who knew him, including his girlfriend Keely Alexander, his brother Cory Stone, and his sisters Tori Haught and Lyndsey Stillion.
