On October 7, 2002, William Joseph English IV, aged 24, was shot to death at his residence located at 1506 Fillmore Circle in Lorain, Ohio. The incident occurred around 1:00 PM after there was a knock at his door. When William opened the door, he engaged in a conversation with an unknown male. During this interaction, the male, described as a Black man, fired several shots at William, killing him. The shooter immediately fled the scene, and his identity has never been discovered.
It is believed that the shooting was a retaliatory act connected to an incident that had occurred earlier in the day. Despite investigations by the Lorain Police Department, no arrests have been made, and the case remains unsolved. Authorities continue to appeal to the public for any information that might help solve the case and bring justice for William and his family. A reward of $5,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the crime.
