The coroner's office says an 83-year-old woman found dead in her home on Saturday died as the result of blunt force trauma.

Birmingham fire and rescue officials found the body of Annie Sharpe, 83, inside her Wylam home after police officer conducted a welfare check around 1 p.m. Oct. 6.

The BFR responders went to the home in the 4500 block of 12th Avenue and had to force entry into the residence. They found Sharpe lying on the floor, unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at ...Read More
