The incident occurred around 8:36 p.m. when a District Four police officer was flagged down at Jefferson Avenue by an individual who reported that the front seat passenger of his vehicle had been shot. Fire personnel responded to the scene, but Evan McCray had already succumbed to his injuries. Further investigation revealed that the actual shooting had taken place at 2218 Rice Street in Cincinnati.
