On December 5, 1997, Daniel J. Pope, a 35-year-old Cincinnati Police officer, was tragically killed in the line of duty. Officer Pope, along with his partner, Police Specialist Ronald Jeter, was shot while attempting to serve a domestic violence warrant at an apartment on W. Hollister Street. The suspect, Alonzo Davenport, opened fire on the officers, shooting both in the head.
