Dujawn Samuel McDaniel Foster III, a 21-year-old resident of Cincinnati, Ohio, tragically lost his life on Thursday, March 28, 2024, in a shooting incident that occurred at a house party in Corryville, near the University of Cincinnati campus. The fatal event took place around 11 p.m. at a large gathering in a short-term rental property on the 200 block of Fosdick Street.
During the incident, Foster was shot inside the house and succumbed to his injuries.
Additionally, a 16-year-old was shot in the arm and independently sought treatment at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition. Following the shooting, all individuals involved fled the scene, prompting an immediate police investigation.
Foster's older sister, Deangela Weakley, expressed her belief that her brother was targeted for armed robbery. In her grief, she emphasized her desire for justice, stating, "I don't have any more tears to cry. I'm at a point right now where I want justice for my brother".
On April 18, 2024, approximately three weeks after the incident, the Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit and Fugitive Apprehension Unit made a significant breakthrough in the case. They arrested 20-year-old Jontatum Ferguson, charging him with Foster's murder. This arrest marked a crucial development in the ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting.
