On July 18, 2012, 36-year-old Jamel Cribbs was found dead in a vacant apartment in Columbus, Ohio. The gruesome nature of the crime shocked the local community. According to the coroner’s report, Cribbs had been both beaten and fatally shot in the head, with his body discovered with his head wrapped in plastic and his hands bound. His fiancée, Jamilia Gammon, was also found deceased at the scene, her body fully wrapped in plastic, with suffocation identified as her cause of death.
