Cory Blackwell, a 25-year-old resident of Warren, Ohio, was tragically killed on January 1, 2013, at the Sunset Lounge, located on East Market Street. The incident occurred just after a New Year's Eve celebration at the venue, where Cory was shot multiple times at around 2:11 a.m. Police found him unresponsive near the crowded dance floor and later transported him to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
