A woman is killed in a drive-by shooting On November 23, 2017, Adrian Scott, a 34-year-old woman from Columbus, Ohio, was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting while preparing Thanksgiving dinner. The incident occurred at approximately 12:53 p.m. at a residence located on Hiddenspring Drive, in the Greenview Estates community. Adrian was in the kitchen when gunshots rang out, hitting her. Her fiancé discovered her unresponsive, and she was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medics.
The Columbus Division of Police and Fire responded quickly, but were unable to save her.
The investigation revealed that two different firearms were used in the shooting. Surveillance footage obtained by police showed two vehicles involved in the incident: a silver, two-door Lexus coupe and a white, four-door Ford Explorer. These vehicles were seen driving past the house during the time of the shooting. It was believed that the shooting may have been connected to a dispute between rival street gangs, although Adrian herself was an innocent victim caught in the violence.
Columbus Police have sought the public's assistance in solving this case, releasing surveillance videos and offering a cash reward through Crime Stoppers. The authorities have encouraged anyone with information to come forward to help bring those responsible to justice. Despite numerous tips, the case remains unsolved, leaving the family and friends of Adrian Scott without closure.
