On August 8, 1978, 30-year-old Robert Louis Alsbrook was shot and killed in Concord, North Carolina. Alsbrook was sitting in his car, which was parked at the former Cabarrus County Fairgrounds on Cabarrus Avenue West when he was shot. After being wounded, he ran from his car toward a tent revival across from the fairgrounds on Union Cemetery Road, where he was shot a second time.
