In the early hours of Labor Day, September 7, 2026, a violent altercation in St. Louis led to the death of one man and the arrest of another. Andre R. Meadows, a 46-year-old male, found himself at the center of a homicide investigation following a shooting in the 5000 block of Geraldine Avenue. The incident began to unfold around 12:30 a.m. when Meadows' father became embroiled in an argument with another individual outside of a residence.

Meadows emerged from the home and allegedly began firing a weapon. His intended target appears to have been the person arguing with his father, but the gunfire also struck a nearby vehicle. Inside that car was 64-year-old Dwayne Robinson of St. Ann, who was struck by the gunfire and ultimately lost his life as a result of the shooting. The confrontation, which began as a dispute, tragically escalated into a fatal encounter.
Following the incident, law enforcement arrested Andre R. Meadows. He is now facing several serious charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. It was also reported that at the time of the shooting, Meadows had a prior felony record and was out on bond for a separate gun charge. In the wake of his arrest for the Labor Day shooting, Meadows was ordered to be held without bail.
