On a Monday afternoon in St. Louis, tragedy struck at the 8th Street Restaurant in the Soulard neighborhood, claiming the life of 22-year-old Christopher Frye-Pleasant. The young man was inside the establishment on January 26, 2026, when gunfire erupted. Police responded to a shooting call shortly after 1 p.m. and discovered Frye-Pleasant suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
