A family dispute in St. Louis' West End neighborhood on January 14, 2026, ended in the shooting deaths of two brothers. The altercation resulted in the death of 35-year-old Victor Blount, a Black male. The incident occurred shortly before noon in an apartment in the 1000 block of Hamilton Avenue.
Responding officers found Victor Blount inside the apartment with fatal gunshot wounds.
His 40-year-old brother, Jeramie Blount, was found with gunshot wounds in a nearby field and died after being transported to a hospital.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the preliminary investigation suggests that a disagreement between the brothers escalated, leading Jeramie Blount to shoot his younger brother, Victor. A woman in her 40s who was also in the apartment at the time of the initial shooting then fired at Jeramie Blount. After being shot, he fled the apartment and collapsed in the nearby field.
The woman who shot Jeramie Blount was taken into custody and is reportedly cooperating with the ongoing investigation led by the Homicide Division. Authorities have stated that they are not seeking any other suspects in connection with this incident.
