A sense of evening quiet in the 3100 block of Milton Road in east Charlotte was shattered on Thursday, August 20, 2026, by a violent altercation that would end a life. In the midst of a dispute, 33-year-old Huber Alexander Velazquez, a man of Honduran nationality, was shot multiple times. Despite the severity of his injuries, a final surge of adrenaline propelled him nearly 200 yards from where the argument took place.
