On the night of September 11, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon in the 8300 block of Highlander Court, located in Charlotte's North Division. Upon arrival, they discovered 58-year-old Saphankham Pok Insomphou, born on September 21, 1964, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
