Carl Ramsey was a Black man whose death became part of one of the most concentrated episodes in Joseph Gerard Christopher's racially motivated killing spree. On December 22, 1980, Christopher was in Manhattan while on Christmas leave from the U.S. Army. He had arrived in New York City two days earlier, and over roughly twelve and a half hours he attacked six men with a knife. Four of those victims died. Ramsey was the last person fatally attacked that night.
