In the summer of 2026, the city of Madison, Wisconsin, became the scene of a fatal police shooting that claimed the life of 38-year-old Corey Ruiz. On the afternoon of July 22nd, police responded to reports of a man looking into parked cars and stealing bicycles in the Marquette neighborhood.
