On a warm Saturday night in New Orleans, the vibrant life of 23-year-old Sylvester Jenkins was tragically cut short. On August 1, 2026, in the Central City neighborhood, Jenkins was fatally shot. The New Orleans Police Department reported that the shooting occurred around 9:58 p.m. in the 2900 block of Freret Street.
