On a summer evening in the Bronx, 21-year-old Axl Ortiz's life was abruptly ended by a fatal shooting on June 22, 2026. The attack occurred around 6:15 p.m. in the Belmont neighborhood, where Ortiz was found on the sidewalk at 413 East 187th Street with a gunshot wound to his head. Emergency services rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
