In the quiet, early morning hours of Thursday, June 25, 2026, a tragic event shattered the peace of the small community of McCaysville, Georgia. Austin Teems, a 29-year-old male, was fatally shot at the Bethel Church. Emergency services were alerted to the shooting by a 911 call from the church. When deputies from the Fannin County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene, they discovered Teems suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
